NetRead Adds New Formats to JacketCaster

(San Francisco, CA - January 11, 2001) - NetRead, Inc. announced today new functionality in their catalog automation product, JacketCaster. Book publishers can now deliver bibliographic data in pipe-delimited and tab-delimited format to any etailer, retailer, or wholesaler who requires that format.

Tab-delimited text is one of the more common data formats, defined by text separated by tabs. Pipe-delimited format is essentially the same kind of format, but uses the pipe symbol ("|") as its delimiting property. These are particularly useful for book publishers transmitting their data to niche etailers, but are still used by larger booksellers and wholesalers as well.

JacketCaster now exports data in seven specific formats, including ONIX 1.1 (XML), Bisac Fixed Format version 5.0, HTML, and Tagged Ascii Format.

JacketCaster gives publishers control of their bibliographic data and images, allowing them to transmit this packaging information to a broad array of online and offline booksellers, wholesalers, book reviewers, buyers, and customers. JacketCaster is a marketing platform for any company focused on leveraging the electronic content in its database.
